Facebook, Instagram and Twitter have made videos a vital part of their platform and links from social media are a key traffic driver, but high-quality social media graphics have persevered as a best practice on social media.
As I gathered the links for today’s post, I noticed a few themes:
- Weather and sports (specifically the Patriots) were among the most common and popular subjects
- The emoji trend really emerged in January-February and has evolved significantly. We’ve gone from showing them all as a reminder, to using a few as a voting mechanism to creatively placing one or two in the graphic as subtle encouragement
- Photo quality matters almost as much as being first.
- Graphics make for great breaking news headline updates on topics people have already been following
