Presentation: Convergence media

While I don’t quite agree with the theory that media consumption devices are converging (I think they are overlapping in capability but still fragmented in user actions), media creation devices have converged in a much more concrete way. As the news industry streamlines out of necessity, we will survive by creatively using these tools to simplify our acts of journalism.

I presented on this topic today at a Society of Professional Journalists event held for students on Denver’s Auraria Campus. Three other professionals also spoke to highlight their key thoughts about the current industry, and highlight some of their examples.
