Proud to return as an ONA mentor

For the second, consecutive year I’ve been invited to work as a mentor in the Online News Association’s Student Newsroom and Innovation Lab during the organization’s upcoming conference in New Orleans.

This is the tenth year for this remarkable program, and I am privileged to be invited back for another round.

I’ve been attending the ONA conferences for a long time (they’ve been a very helpful part of my career) but I found that last year’s experience in the newsroom gave a new spice to the experience. It was truly challenging to work with the students so intensely, with such short deadlines, and rewarding to help them succeed.

ONA announced the new slate of mentors this week. I was proud to notice that I was the only representative of a local TV/Digital newsroom to be selected for the program.
